CacOggK222Q/8-oxoG:C carbon atoms are shown in light grey and those in the 8-oxoG:A complex are colored in light orange. Phe179 is involved in both hydrophobic and hydrophilic interactions. B) Interactions made by hOGG1 (PDB ID code 1EBM) [26] with estranged cytosine. Tyr203 is involved in both hydrophobic and hydrophilic interactions and helps stabilize the side chain of Asn149. H-bonds are represented by green dashed lines for CacOgg/8-oxoG:C or by the color corresponding to their structure.
