PKC inhibition reverses the effect of sulindac in the Langendorff heart model. Total LDH levels are shown after 45 min ischemia and 2 h of reperfusion. Animals were fed no drug (lanes 1,4), sulindac 0.2 mg/day for 48 h (lanes 2,5), or injected with chelerythrine (PKCI) 5 mg/kg (I.P., lanes 3,6) just before feeding with sulindac, after which the heart was isolated for analysis on the Langendorff apparatus.
