Compound C induced apoptosis in MCF7 cells. MCF7 cells were exposed to different concentrations of Compound C for 24 h (A) or 40 µM Compound C for different time periods (B). The cells were then labeled with Annexin V and propidium iodide and subjected to flow cytometry analysis. The percentages of apoptotic cells were determined. Data are means ± SEM. * P < 0.05, n = 3. C: GFP-Bax stable MCF7 cells were treated with 40 µM Compound C (CC) for 48 h. The cells were then stained with Hoechst nuclear stain (10 µg/ml) and analyzed by fluorescence microscopy to detect apoptotic nuclei.
