Mitochondrial respiration was impaired in MOLM-13 while only temporary affected in MV-4-11. MOLM-13 and MV-4-11 cells were exposed to 200 μg/ml khat and 0.1 μM CPT for the indicated hours and O₂ consumption measured by high-resolution respirometry. Cellular O₂ was calculated from the recorded data as the time derivative of the oxygen content in the chamber, and results presented as percentages O₂consumption per cell in treated cells as compared to untreated controls. This figure shows the results from one typical experiment.
