First options for severe cases
Third- and fourth-generation cephalosporins Cefoperazon/sulbactam, ceftriaxone, ceftazidime, cefepime, cefozopran
Monobactams Aztreonam
One of above + metronidazole (when anaerobic bacteria are detected or are expected to co-exist)
Second options for severe cases
