A, the proteolytic activity of ASP or nicked ASP was measured using a fluorogenic synthetic peptide substrate, (Boc)-Glu-Lys-Lys-MCA. B, samples of PK (5 μg) were incubated for 30 min at 37 °C in 15 μl of solution containing various amounts of ASP (0.17 μg, 0.34 μg, 0.50 μg, or 0.67 μg). ASP was not added to the sample for lane 1. After incubation, these samples were separated by SDS-PAGE. Molecular masses are calibrated on the side.
