TABLE 3.
In vitro antiviral activity of PF-46396 in HIV-1 single-cycle infection and virus production assays
| Compound | Antiviral activity (EC50 [μM]) in single-cycle infectiona | Virus productionb (% inhibition) |
|---|---|---|
| PF-46396 | >10 | 92 (91, 93) |
| EFV | 0.001 ± 0.0001 | 24 (18, 30) |
| NFV | >1 | 76 (74, 78) |
Antiviral activity was determined after infection of HeLa CD4 LTR/beta-Gal cells with HIV single-cycle infectious viruses as described in Materials and Methods. Values represent the mean EC50 ± standard deviation or representative EC50 values from three experiments.
The production of HIV-1 infectious virions was measured as described in Materials and Methods. Results are presented as percent inhibition of infectious virus production in the presence of 2× EC90s of the compound relative to the no-compound control and represent the mean of two independent experiments (individual values shown in parentheses). PF-46396, EFV, and NFV were present at concentrations of 10 μM, 0.01 μM, and 0.14 μM, respectively.
