For the indeterminate assays (indicated by an asterisk) there were 11 failed positive control assays, 1 assay with a high background level, 1 assay with peptide contamination, 1 inconclusive assay, and 1 defective plate. Of the subjects positive for one or more RD1 pools in the ELISpot assay and with no evidence of active TB (indicated by a dagger), 12 had specific risk factors and a positive 15-mm TST, 21 had specific risk factors and a negative 15-mm TST, and 5 had no specific risk factors and a negative 15-mm TST or unknown TST results.
