The numbers indicate the lengths of the gephyrin transcripts in kb as detected with the probes indicated. A exon 11-specific probe cross-hybridized strongly to a band of 1.6 kb in all tissues examined; the nature of this transcript is presently unclear. Parentheses indicate RNAs of low abundance. Putative degradation products (2.2–2.6 kb) of the major 3.6- to 3.8-kb gephyrin transcript are not included. n.d., no transcripts detected.
