COX-1 (a) and COX-2 (b) mRNA levels in spinal cords and skin of pawpads of WT and COX-deficient mice. The levels of COX mRNA present in tissue are expressed as ratios of densitometric measurements of samples compared with their internal standard. mRNA for COX-1 was not found in COX-1-null mice, and mRNA for COX-2 was not found in COX-2-null mice.
