Cleavage of dynorphin-related peptide hormones by wild-type and mutant LVRN/APQs. Twenty five micromolars of Met-enkephalin, dynorphin A-(1–8), -(1–13), and -(1–17) were incubated with wild-type (2 μg/ml), H379F (2 μg/ml), or H379G (5 μg/ml) LVRN/APQ at 37 °C for 10 min. After separating the generated peptides by reversed phase HPLC, the digested substrates were measured. Similar results were obtained in at least three separate experiments.
