Demthylcurcumin (DC) downregulated TNF- α–induced ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 protein expression in HMEC cells. Human microvascular endothelial cells (HMECs) were seeded in six-well plates (0.5 × 106/well). DC or C95 was added to the cells for 24 h and then activated with TNF-α for 24 h. A significant decrease in (A) ICAM-1 and (B) VCAM-1 protein expression was noted with DC treatment but not the C95 treatment. Results are expressed as mean ± SD, p < 0.05; *, compared with TNF-α treated.
