Serum-starved HSCs were stimulated with insulin at indicated concentrations in the absence (A & C) or presence (B & D) of curcumin at 0–30μM in serum-free media for 24 hr. The levels of total cellular GSH (A & B) and the ratio of GSH/GSSG (C & D) were determined. The levels of total GSH were expressed as nmol/μg protein. Values were presented as means ± S.D.
