Recombinant IL-1β stimulates PDGF-Rα promoter, mRNA, and protein expression. A, NIH-3T3 cells were transfected with 1 μg of pLuc-α2 overnight and treated with various concentrations of IL-1β for 24 h. Firefly luciferase activity in the lysates was normalized to Renilla. B, NIH-3T3 cells were incubated with IL-1β (10 ng/ml) or phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) (100 ng/ml) for 4 h, and levels of PDGF-Rα mRNA were determined by RT-PCR (upper) or qRT-PCR (lower).
