Samples 1 to 7 are from pathologically normal tissue taken from surgical lobectomies of lung cancer patients. Samples 8 to 10 are derived from microdissected fibroblastic foci taken from samples 11 to 13. Samples 11 to 17 are homogenates of grossly abnormal lung, selected for abundance of fibroblastic foci. NSLC, non-small cell lung carcinoma; SCC, Small cell lung carcinoma.
