Antibodies to Nb-CTL-1 react with N. brasiliensis excretorysecretory antigens (NES), and cross-react between the two species. Polyclonal antibodies raised in rats against recombinant Nb-CTL-1 were tested by ELISA for reactivity with the homologous immunogen Nb-CTL-1 (A), an unrelated recombinant protein, Bm-Galectin (B), and NES (C). Normal rat serum controls are shown in each panel. Sera raised against Hp-CTL-1 and Nb-CTL-1 were compared for reactivity with Hp-CTL-1 (D) and Nb-CTL-1 (E), showing substantial cross-reactivity. Data shown are means ± SD of duplicate determinations at each dilution, and similar results were obtained with two different polyclonal antisera raised against each antigen.
