Effect of central aPKC inhibition on LPS induction of hypothalamic inflammation. 3V-cannulated rats (n = 6/group) were treated with icv saline (Sal) or INH (2nmol) followed by ip saline or LPS (100 μg/kg) and euthanized 2 h later for collection of mediobasal hypothalamus (A and B) and spleen (C and D). Extracts were processed for quantification using real-time PCR of IκBα (A and C) and IL-6 (B and D) gene expression relative to GAPDH mRNA and normalization to Sal/Sal levels.
