Effect of topical CEES exposure on 4-HNE-adducted protein modifications in SKH-1 hairless mouse skin. Mice were treated topically with different doses of CEES or acetone alone, and the dorsal skin was collected at specific time points as detailed under Materials and Methods. Skin epidermis samples from both dose- and time-response studies were homogenized in lysis buffer, and lysates were subjected to SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with anti-4-HNE antibody (1:2000) as described under Materials and Methods. After exposure to X-ray film, the membranes were stripped and reprobed with β-actin. The gels are representative of two animals in each dose- and time-response study.
