Effect of the protein synthesis inhibitor CHM on Al-stimulated release of citrate in rice bean. Seedlings were exposed to 0·5 mm CaCl2 solution (pH 4·5) containing no Al (–Al), 50 µm AlCl3 (+Al), 50 µm AlCl3 plus 20 µm CHM (+Al +CHM) or 20 µm CHM (+CHM).
