Characteristic frequencies are calculated for points at and beyond the Hopf bifurcations, which occur along the ridge. Prebifurcation solutions, which lie to the right of the bifurcation locus, correspond to decaying responses to perturbation. The solutions near the bifurcation imply transient oscillatory components. To the left of the bifurcation locus, postbifurcation solutions represent limit-cycle oscillations.
