SB203580 confers resistance to heat-induced germ cell apoptosis. Apoptotic indices (AI, number of apoptotic germ cells per 100 Sertoli cells) at stages XII–XIV in rats treated with vehicle (control), SB203580, heat, or heat + SB203580 show that pretreatment with SB203580 significantly (P < 0.05) prevents heat stress-triggered apoptosis in germ cells.
