Deletion of APT1 results in altered staining with FM4-64. Cells of the WT (H99) strain and the apt1-3 mutant were grown to mid-log phase in YPD medium at 30°C. As indicated, the cells were stained with FM4-64 for 2 min or 30 min, washed with water, and viewed by fluorescence microscopy (magnification, ×100) after 5 and 30 min. Bar = 10 μM.
