Z sections generated from areas containing the various types of plaques expressed by the WT construct are shown and are representative of plaques seen in all mutants. Plaques were found to span the entire membrane (A) or part of the membrane (B, C). Less frequently, plaques were found to be apparently suspended near the basal membrane (D) or the apical membrane (E), not at cell-cell junctions. F.
