EP4 mediates the PGE₂ stimulation of NVM growth. NVMs were transfected with expression vectors as described in methods and then treated with PGE₂ for 48 h. Immunofluorescence of either green fluorescent protein-transfected (control) or hemagglutinin (HA)-EP4-transfected cells was detected under a fluorescent microscope, and cell surface area was measured using Microsuite Five.
