Sequence of human NESP55. The sequence was derived from genomic DNA and initiates at a BglII site. It is contiguous with the RT-PCR-derived cDNA sequence as far as the splice donor site (indicated by the change to lowercase letters at position 1629). The positions of the ends of 5′ RACE clones are indicated by bold underlined nucleotides. The region that is spliced in front of GNAS1 exon 2 in IMAGE clone 301896 (GenBank accession no. w16881) is underlined; the presence of a cryptic splice donor site appears to account for this event. The upstream in-frame stop codon is double-underlined.
