Inhibition of palmitate-induced expression of SAA3 and MCP-1 by silencing TLR4. 3T3–L1 adipocytes were transfected with a siRNA specific for TLR4 or a scrambled siRNA (negative control). Twenty-four hours later, the cells were exposed to palmitate (250 μmol/l) in 5 and 25 mmol/l glucose for 7 days with daily medium changes.
