Transcription from the hctB promoter with the following components present in the reaction: Lane 1, σ28 alone; Lane 2, heparin-agarose-purified RNA polymerase alone; Lane 3, chlamydial σ28 RNA polymerase reconstituted from σ28 and heparin-agarose-purified RNA polymerase; Lane 4, chlamydial σ28 RNA polymerase in the presence of anti-chlamydial σ28 antibodies.

B. σ66-dependent transcription from the dnaK promoter with the following components present in the reaction: Lane 1, σ28 alone; Lane 2, heparin-agarose-purified RNA polymerase alone; Lane 3, heparin-agarose-purified RNA polymerase in the presence of anti-chlamydial σ28 antibodies.
