Gene-specific dye bias is multiplicative in nature. The VERA error modeling procedure is applied to control data and used to determine the values of the parameters μx, μy and β for each gene. Here, the smoothed estimate of the absolute value of β is plotted as a function of the mean value of μx and μy. The data used to generate this smoothed line is also displayed as individual points.
