The ability of Treg^KIF to prevent effector T cell mediated allograft rejection was assayed in an adoptive transfer model. (a) CBA RAG^-/- mice were reconstituted with either (a) 10⁵ BM3 T cells purified from BM3-RAG^-/- animals or together with either 3×10⁵ Treg or Treg^KIF from pre-treated mice, or (b) 10⁵ CD25^-CD4⁺ syngeneic T cells from naïve animals or together with either 10⁵ Treg or Treg^KIF from pre-treated mice. The next day mice received an allogeneic skin graft from B10 mice. Skin graft survival was monitored over 100 days.
