An equivalent number of bacterial cells (10⁴ CFU) was injected into the stems of susceptible tomato seedlings, which were monitored for 18 days and rated on a disease index scale where 0 indicates healthy plants and 4 indicates 100% wilted. All of the assays had a minimum of 24 plants per treatment per assay. Results are representative of three independent experiments.
