Knockdown of hKSR-2 increases both apoptosis and necrosis in AraC-treated HL60 cells. HL60 cells were transfected with either control siRNA or si-hKSR-2, cultured for 48 h, and treated with AraC (100 nmol/L) for 24 h. The cells were spread on slides and stained with hematoxylin. Apoptosis or necrosis was determined by cell morphology. Black arrows, cells undergoing apoptosis; open arrows, necrotic cells, which were principally induced by the transfection procedure because they were also seen in the absence of AraC.
