(a) Densitometric analysis of NACHT, LRR and PYD domains containing protein 1 (NALP1), NALP3, NALP12 or apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD domain (ASC) expression on Western blots performed on synovial tissues from OA and RA patients (at least eight patients per group). (b) Quantification of caspase-1 and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in OA and RA synovial tissue extracts, as determined by specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (at least eight patients per group).
