Gene organization and splice variants of Gmtra. (A) Exons in red (E2a, E4, E5, and E6) contain the long ORF that is intact in the female-specific transcripts GmtraF1. Exons in blue (E2b, E3a, and E3b) are male specific and contain several in-frame translation termination signals.
