Ovarioles were dissected and counted from the left, ventral ovary from individual workers from six colonies. A logistic regression demonstrated that there is a strong negative correlation between retinue response and ovariole number (p = 0.0014). There was also a significant colony effect (p<0.0001), but no significant interaction (p = 0.11). A bar graph depicts the average retinue response based on the number of ovarioles comprising the left, ventral ovary.
