Recycling of RL1194 after iron release into P. aeruginosa PAD07 cells. PAD07 cells at an OD₆₀₀ of 1 in 50 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0) were incubated in the presence of 800 nM RL1194-Fe (at 0°C [○] or at 30°C [▵]). At different times, aliquots were removed, the cells pelleted, and the increase of fluorescence at 535 nm (λ_ext = 400 nm) monitored in the supernatant. The experiment was repeated at 30°C in the absence of siderophores (□).
