In contrast to our first hypothesis, after 1.25 × 106 loading cycles, the models with undersized stems produced more cement cracks than models in which a canal-filling stem was simulated. The number of cracks was normalized by dividing by the maximal number of cracks that could possibly be simulated in the cement mantle.
