FIGURE 7.

The effect of other TLR ligands on Kir6.1 mRNA expression. Total RNAs were extracted from dissociated SMCs from the mouse aorta after 20 h of incubation with different TLR ligands. Real-time PCR was performed to quantify Kir6.1 mRNA expression. LPS (1 μg/ml) increased Kir6.1 transcripts by ∼2.0-fold (***, p < 0.001), LTA (1 μg/ml) by ∼1.6-fold (**, p < 0.01), CpG (10 μg/ml) ∼2.2-fold (*, p < 0.05), and flagellin (1 μg/ml) ∼0.3-fold (**, p < 0.01), whereas poly(I:C) (25 μg/ml) did not show an obvious effect on Kir6.1 expression (∼0.3-fold, p > 0.05). Data were obtained from two independent experiments with 3–4 samples in each.
