Attenuation of cystitis-induced type I collagen expression in the urinary bladder by NGF antibody. In the control IgG-treated animals, cystitis increased the type I collagen protein (A and B) and gene expression (C) level in the inflamed bladder. Administration of NGF neutralizing antibody had no effects on the basal level of type I collagen mRNA and protein in the urinary bladder but significantly blocked cystitis-induced up-regulation of type I collagen expression in the inflamed bladder.
