The cyclosporin A (CsA)-induced percent change in the distribution of 11C-radioactivity into maternal tissues and the fetus during mid- and late gestation. The effect of CsA on the distribution of 11C-radioactivity was significantly greater at late gestation versus mid-gestation for the placenta, maternal brain, kidneys and spleen. Data are expressed as mean ± standard deviation (n= 4). *P < 0.05 when the percent change in area under the curve (AUC) ratio at mid-gestation is compared with that at late gestation. aMaternal brain P-gp activity was studied in seven macaques.
