A. Expression of the proapoptotic genes hid and rpr in CheB42a/llz-expressing cells using the UAS-GAL4 system did not affect male courtship latency (time from female introduction until the male shows any courtship related behaviors). Parental lines crossed to the reciprocal wild-type genetic background were used as controls. Although there were significant differences between the two parental controls, neither control line was statistically different from the focal cross (ANOVA).
