Phylogenetic analysis of exon 2 sequences of all 118 Mafa-DRB alleles has been performed as described above (Material and methods); exon 2 sequence of Caja-DRB*W1601 is used as outgroup. Bootstrap values <50 have been omitted. Alleles as for example DRB*W2001 that do not cluster within other alleles of the same lineage have been named according to the same motif at the peptide binding site (amino acids 9–13)
