Other hormones impact auxin levels and response. Jasmonates, cytokinin, ethylene, and brassinosteroids all modulate cellular auxin levels through changes in biosynthesis and transport. Cytokinin, ethylene, and brassinosteroids also alter how sensitive a cell is to the auxin available by manipulating levels of repressors of auxin transcription. Brassinosteroids likely interact with transcriptional activators as well, although the precise mechanism is still unknown.
