At E13.5, mircoarray analysis was used to determine which genes are deregulated in Rb−/− placentas in comparison with wild-type placentas. At E11.5 Rb−/−;E2f4−/− placental cDNA was compared with wild-type placental cDNA. Comparison of the deregulated gene sets identified common sets of up- and down-regulated genes including Dppa5 (a marker of pluripotent cell types) and Rb respectively.
