PIL was identified as a narrow strip of pulvinar just medial and posterior to the LGN. Locations of rabies labeled neurons in (A) a coronal section through the pulvinar in a V2 injected hemisphere (JNM10L); (B) a coronal section through the pulvinar in a V4 injected hemisphere (DLM2L); (C) a coronal section through the pulvinar in a V3 injected hemisphere (JNM4L); (D) a parasagittal section through the pulvinar in an MT injected hemisphere (JNM1).
