In vivo experiments with 10 nmol of compound per plug in treatments were carried out as described in Materials and Methods. CD31 positive areas (corresponding to endothelial cells) were quantified using ImageJ software, relativized to total number of DAPI stained nuclei, and all data were expressed as means ± SD of duplicate plugs normalized to the positive control (100% of vascularization). *Mean values are significantly higher than that of positive controls (p<0.05, according to a Student's paired sample test).
