A. bim1Δ haploid strains are sensitive to the microtubule inhibitor benomyl. Serial 10-fold dilutions of cells were spotted from left to right with an initial concentration of ~5 × 10−5 log phase cells on YPD plates in the presence and absence of 2.5 μg/mL of benomyl. Plates were incubated at 30°C and 37°C for 2 days. B. Microtubules are less stable in bim1Δ strains. Confocal fluorescence microscopy of wild type and bim1Δ strains expressing a GFP-α-tubulin construct in the presence of 0, 1.5, and 2.5 μg/mL of benomyl at 600X magnification.
