Actins (5 μm) or G-buffer (control) were incubated in solution including 10 mm HEPES (pH 7.4), 2 mm MgCl₂, 100 mm KCl, 1 mm EGTA, 0.25 mm DTT, and 0.5 mm ATP at 37 °C for 5 min or 1 h. Following acid quenching, the amounts of total P_i were determined by the malachite green method. Values shown are after subtracting P_i concentration at 0 min. Error bars indicate S.D. (n = 4–7).
