aDNA transposase sequences from the P. brasiliensis transcriptome were used to perform queries in a modified BLASTN search (see Methods) in the genome of isolates Pb01, Pb03 and Pb18 and combined with a strategy for identification of TIRs.
bElements assigned to a DNA transposon superfamily according to the standard principles of the TE classification proposed by Wicker et al. [20].
cSequences that do not meet all the criteria proposed by Wicker et al. [20]. They are highly defective elements, with lower conservation of the typical transposase domains (HTH, CENPB and/or DDE).
