(B and C) Growth of L. monocytogenes EGD-e, EGD-e/pycA::pLSV101, the revertant of the pycA insertion mutant (EGD-e/Rev), and EGD-e/lmo1073::pLSV101 in MM supplemented with 50 mM glucose (MM + glucose) or 50 mM glycerol (MM + glycerol). The strains were first grown in BHI medium to an OD₆₀₀ of 0.5. After centrifugation, the cells were washed twice with MM and then resuspended in MM with the appropriate carbon source. All growth curves are representative of three replicates.
