Table 2.

Values of maximum force and the time of maximum force calculated on a 5 mm spherical prey located 1 gape distance from the centre of the fish mouth at several angles using two different models. The WD model gives the same value for all cases. The three-dimensional model shows considerable differences in the maximum force calculated, up to 28.7% when compared with the WD model. This is attributed to the relaxing of the assumption of a point sink fish mouth assumed in the WD model.
